About the College – The Organizing Body of the Conference
The College of Education was established at the beginning of the 1999-2000 academic year when the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research decided to open it in coordination with the Presidency of Basra University. This was in line with expanding the higher education base to include all the provinces of Iraq, and for these colleges to serve as the nucleus for new universities in each province. Following this direction, the College of Education in Maysan officially commenced its operations on August 31, 1999, becoming a new educational and scientific resource that, alongside other academic institutions, contributes to the advancement of the educational process and the economic and social development of our country, with the aim of elevating it to the ranks of advanced nations.
The College of Education was affiliated with the University of Maysan, along with the College of Basic Education and the College of Physical Education, on April 1, 2007, after the establishment of that university, marking the end of Basra University’s oversight of Maysan colleges.
Upon its founding, the College of Education consisted of four academic departments: Biology, Arabic Language, History, and Geography. Two new departments were added in the 2008-2009 academic year: the Mathematics Department and the English Language Department. The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences was established in the 2013-2014 academic year, followed by the establishment of the Qur’anic Sciences Department in the 2019-2020 academic year, and immediately after, the Physics Department in the 2020-2021 academic year under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Dr. Hashem Dakhel Hussein Al-Darraji. The duration of study is a minimum of four years, after which graduates receive a Bachelor’s degree. The first batch of students graduated in the 2002-2003 academic year, and postgraduate (Master’s) programs were opened for the departments of English Language, Arabic Language, History, and Geography.
The conference will be held at the College of Education, University of Maysan, in a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance with virtual participation. This approach offers greater flexibility for participants from around the world. The innovative format aims to enhance communication and interaction between researchers and experts in the fields of education and information technology, whether they are attending on campus or through online platforms. The conference will feature scientific sessions, keynote lectures delivered by international experts, as well as workshops and interactive discussions that contribute to the exchange of ideas and modern innovations. Organizing the conference in this way provides more opportunities for academics and researchers to participate, regardless of geographical limitations. This event reflects the commitment of the College of Education at the University of Maysan to providing a comprehensive and impactful platform for discussing educational and technological issues that concern academics and professionals both locally and internationally. The College of Education – University of Maysan is located in Iraq, Maysan Governorate, Amarah, on the Al-Kahlaa Road.
