The thesis presented by doctoral student <strong>Abdul Karim Khalil Ibrahim<\/strong>, also a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Babylon University, is titled: <em>&#8220;Simulation of the Impact of Rising Groundwater Levels on Infrastructure: Analysis and Remedies&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The thesis addresses the issue of rising groundwater levels, a challenge affecting many regions globally that causes significant damage to building foundations, roads, bridges, and other structures. To better understand this phenomenon, a laboratory model was constructed using two types of soil to determine the appropriate equations for each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Additionally, the study examined the impact of rising groundwater on two types of foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The results indicated that high groundwater levels reduce the shear strength of the soil but have a minimal effect on the load-bearing capacity of the foundations.
