The thesis was entitled \u201cImproving Energy Performance in Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings\u201d and was submitted by postgraduate student Hawraa Abdulilah Habib as part of the Master of Science program in Thermal Mechanical Engineering Technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The defense was attended by the President of Southern Technical University, <strong>Professor Adnan Abdullah Atiq<\/strong>, the Dean of Basra Engineering Technical College, <strong>Assistant Professor Dr. Nawras Jameel Jassim<\/strong>, along with a distinguished group of faculty members and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The thesis defense committee consisted of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Professor Ahmed Kazem Mohammed<\/strong> \u2013 University of Maysan \/ Faculty of Engineering \u2013 Chair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assistant Professor Duna Tariq Yaseen<\/strong> \u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Polytechnic College of Engineering \u2013 Basra \u2013 Member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professor Rand Abdul Sattar Abd<\/strong> \u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Engineering Technical College \u2013 Basra \u2013 Member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assistant Professor Ali Latif Taresh<\/strong> \u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Polytechnic College \u2013 Al-Qurna \u2013 Member and Supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assistant Professor  Ahmed Hussein Nasser<\/strong> \u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Engineering Technical College \u2013 Basra \u2013 Member and Supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The thesis examined ways to improve energy efficiency in nearly zero-energy buildings by studying and analyzing the factors affecting building energy performance and evaluating methods and technologies that contribute to improving energy efficiency and reducing consumption. The study supports current trends in sustainability and energy efficiency within the construction sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The defense featured an extensive scientific discussion of the research methodology and the findings reached by the study.
