Education participates in the General Assembly meetings of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in the General Assembly meeting of the International Renewable Energy Agency, which was held in the United Arab Emirates.

The Ministry of Higher Education was represented by Undersecretary Dr. Adnan Ibrahim Abdel-Jumaili in the sessions, which came under the slogan “Outcomes of the Conference of the Parties (COP28): Infrastructure, policies, and skills needed to triple the production capacity of renewable energy and accelerate the energy transition.”

The dialogues witnessed the participation of more than 1,300 participants from 144 countries, in the presence of ministers and executive officials. The attendees discussed the features of the strategic path for countries and regions of the world based on the outcomes of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) and the first global assessment of the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

The attendees reviewed the energy transition priorities and the steps necessary to accelerate progress towards doubling the production capacity of renewable energy by 2030.
