Prof. Dr. Hashem Hanin Karim and Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Fouad Maarouf, the two teaching staff at the University of Maysan/Department of Geography in the College of Basic Education, published a scientific research in the Indian magazine. Journal. Of Ecologe tagged (Geographical assessment of the natural resources of the Wadi Abu Hazaer Basin in the Salman Desert in southern Iraq), which is located within the Scopax container. The research dealt with the most important natural resources spread in this basin, such as water resources (surface and underground), natural plants and natural pastures, as well as the study of mineral resources. These resources have been studied according to the spatial analysis approach by studying the spatial complex of the distribution of natural resources and the extent to which this distribution is affected by spatial controls and studying the ways and the possibility of economic benefit from these resources in the development of the southern Iraqi desert.
