Powers of the Faculty of Dentistry Council:
1- Drawing the college policy in line with the general policy of the university and achieving its mission
2 – Preparation of admission plans for primary and higher studies in the departments of the college.
3 – Preparation of a plan for scientific research and authoring and translation of the departments of the college
- Recommending the creation, merging or elimination of scientific departments or branches.
- Recommend the development of graduate studies in Latakia.
6 – Consider the plans of the scientific departments on inviting visiting professors, conferences, scientific symposiums, submissions, scientific devotions, secondments and vacations inside and outside the country and recommend them to the Rector for approval.
7 – Adoption of the titles of theses and theses for postgraduate studies and the approval of the nomination of supervisors for students of postgraduate studies and the appointment of members of the discussion committees
- Nominating the members of the comprehensive examination committees for doctoral students
9 – Reconsider the curricula of graduate and primary studies periodically and distribute them to the academic stages.
10 – Adoption of the results of the examinations of postgraduate and primary after lifting by the departments and branches of science in the college.
11- Adoption of the final exams after lifting of the scientific sections and branches in the college
12 – Approval of the scientific promotion of a member of the teaching staff (teacher or assistant professor) and submitted to the University to issue the university order
13- Recommend any university president to upgrade the faculty member to the rank of professor after completing its procedures by the Committee of Scientific Promotions in the College
- Agree to postpone the academic year for the college students after the availability of convincing justifications and the required documents
15- Approval of the first extension of postgraduate students (6 six months) and upon the recommendation of the Department Council.
16- Recommendation to the President of the University to approve the second and third extension of graduate students on the proposal of the Council of the Department or scientific branch in the college.
17- Recommend the assignment of faculty members and lecturers for graduate studies as needed and the duration specified by the sections and branches.
18- Conclude scientific and cultural agreements with the corresponding colleges inside and outside the country and submit them to the university for ratification.
Supervising the affairs of the College and following up its scientific, cultural, artistic and sports activities
2 – Preparation of the college staff for the next academic year in the second half of the current academic year in the light of the proposal of the dean and councils of sections and branches.
3 – Review the addresses of technicians and administrators within the certified staff of the College
4 – Review the owners of the college periodically
5 – Form committees to help him perform his scientific, administrative and educational tasks
Imposing disciplinary sanctions on students
- Recommend the punishment of teachers and staff after exhausting their purposes
- Recommending the abolition of penalties imposed on teachers and staff after exhausting their purposes
