The Dean of the College of Basic Education, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mohsen Al-Moussawi, announced the recommendations and fruits of the first international conference of the Fifth Mathematics Department of the College of Basic Education, University of Maysan, which is labeled “Mathmatology: its sciences and its educational applications,” which was held for the period from 15-16/June/2021
Among the most important outcomes and recommendations of the conference:
1- Developing the teaching of mathematics in terms of its methods, educational materials, means and techniques to rise to the ranks of teaching disciplines in advanced universities.

  1. Encouraging the educational private sector to see a greater role in the education of mathematics by removing administrative obstacles that stand in the way of providing incentives for mathematics.
  2. Absorbing advanced foreign experiences and expertise in the field of mathematics in an orderly and fast manner and directing intensive efforts to establish a specialized and qualified team that provides training programs and works through a drawn strategic plan that achieves the exchange of information and experiences between workers and researchers.
  3. As a result of the overlap of mathematics with all other sciences, we recommend opening the door to participation in research for all disciplines for joint scientific research with mathematics (medical, engineering, chemical, biological, and others).
  4. Forming a scientific committee for upcoming scientific conferences of various scientific disciplines.
  5. Seeking to provide a job market for students of mathematics departments in faculties of science by holding scientific symposia on the overlap of mathematics with other sciences, provided that invitations are sent to those concerned from other ministries to introduce the possibility of mathematics departments to contribute to solving real problems facing the country.
  6. Focus on specialized conferences, provided that they are announced before a sufficient period of time for the purpose of providing the opportunity to participate for the largest possible number of researchers.
  7. Increasing the financial allocations for national as well as international conferences so that the scientific departments can conduct conferences and seminars successfully without the need to ask other parties not concerned to provide financial support, as well as activating the role of the ministry in obtaining entry visas for foreign researchers.
  8. Opening the door for cooperation with other universities in the field of joint supervision of graduate students for the purpose of integrating disciplines in all scientific departments.
  9. Holding a conference periodically every year so that the department can fully prepare for the international scientific conference to be held. 11- The need for the Federation of Arab Universities, as well as the League of Arab States, to adopt a reformulation of the curricula, especially in mathematics, starting from the elementary levels to the university studies (bachelor’s) by emphasizing the necessity of giving the numerical miracle of the Holy Qur’an the utmost importance and seeking to include this part in the chapters of those curricula and their academic vocabulary Taking into account the age group for each stage, in order to integrate knowledge and strengthen the bonds of scientific and religious coexistence for the teacher and the learner alike
