, Assistant Professor Dr. Buraq Talib Shalash Under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahdi Sakhi The first-year students in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education, University of Maysan, held an art exhibition of scientific pictures and murals under the supervision of Asst.Instr. (Ghufran Khazal).
The exhibition was opened by the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Buraq Talib Shalash He was accompanied by Professor Dr. Rana Sabeeh, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies And Assistant Professor Dr. Salim Kazim Abbas, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, the scientific exhibition of pictures and murals that represent the students’ scientific journey and which increase their educational awareness. The Dean expressed the keenness of the College of Education and its departments to activate classroom activities that aim to spread educational and psychological culture and increase students’ awareness of the educational role assigned to them, especially related to disseminating educational methods in addressing social problems and combating deviant behavioral phenomena, and the necessity of concerted efforts between professors and students to achieve this goal.
The exhibition included the display of a group of scientific murals and posters showing the goals, areas and fields of work for the department’s graduates In addition to a comprehensive and brief presentation of the psychological, educational and social theories of several scholars and a brief explanation of most of the psychological and educational concepts contained therein, the students of the first stage in the morning and evening studies presented a comprehensive explanation of the content of each mural in front of the visitors, displaying a group of abnormal behavioral phenomena and methods of treatment that varied accordingly. Due to the nature of each behavioral or educational phenomenon mentioned in the exhibition,Emphasis was placed on the behavioral problems and diseases that affect children, such as autism, hyperactivity, and lack of attention, as well as obsessive-compulsive disorder, narcissistic personality, schizophrenia, and depression. It included a presentation of the causes and indicators that indicate each behavioral phenomenon or psychological illness.
