The College of Education at the University of Maysan, in cooperation with the Department of Immigration and Displacement in Maysan, held a scientific symposium entitled “Immigration and Identity Integration, in the presence of the Director of Immigration and Displacement in Maysan, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Salim Kazim Abbas, and a group of professors and college students. The symposium included a lecture by Mr. Jabbar Kazem Shami, Director of the Immigration Department, who addressed the topic of the legal consequences of illegal immigration, and Assistant Professor Afrah Abdul Jabbar Abdul Sahib addressed the topic (brain drain), and the lecturer Instr. Haider Abdel Hassan Karim, the focus on (trying to identify the social and psychological effects The symposium showed that this phenomenon aims to identify mechanisms for combating the phenomenon of illegal immigration including ways to return skilled immigrants and how to organize the return of illegal immigrants.
The symposium concluded with recommendations Including holding awareness seminars and workshops through universities, government institutions, and civil society organizations to reduce the phenomenon of illegal immigration and target the teenage stage.
