University of Misan organizes a symposium on keratoconus from a physical point of view and a mathematical analysis of corneal convexity The Department of Mathematics, College of Education, University of Misan organized a symposium on (Keratoconus from a physical point of view and mathematical analysis of corneal convexity) with the participation of lecturers and researchers of the department. The symposium held by Prof. (Mudar Sabah Al-Asali- Ph.D.). It was about the composition of the eye, mechanism of vision and arithmetical operations in the calculation of the location of images and vision defects. It also focused on the keratoconus, its causes and the latest treatment techniques. The symposium dealt with the techniques of hard and hybrid contact lenses for the treatment of keratoconus. The symposium showed how to know the means hardening hard and hybrid lenses lenses and then implantation of the blink after sclerotherapy by using ultraviolet radiation and (femtosolar laser) … and analysis of the results of the Pentocam device to the topography of the cornea. The symposium concluded the types of vision defects and what the physical sense of simple and complex astigmatism, types of lasers used and what is laser, lasik and surface laser. Many interventions were presented. The symposium was useful filled with information and reinforced by modern research.
