A lecturer at the College of Education publishes a book entitled Raising Cows in Iraq

Professor Dr. Kazim Ibadi Hamadi Al-Jassim, an experienced professor and lecturer at the College of Education, Maysan University, published a book entitled (Cow breeding in Iraq) The book contains an introduction and seven main chapters, with a total number of pages exceeding 170 pages. The first and second chapters deal with a study of the natural geographical and human factors affecting cow breeding in Iraq. The third chapter dealt with the study of the breeds raised in Iraq, and the fourth chapter was concerned with studying the diseases that affect cows in Iraq. The fifth chapter of the book was concerned with feeding cows and the most important feeds provided to cows in Iraq. As for the sixth chapter, it was concerned with the problems facing livestock breeding cows in Iraq…The last chapter specializes in studying cow development and means of advancement The book discussed the importance of raising cows in Iraq as one of the most important tributaries and ensuring food security for the population, as well as their ability and adaptation to living in all governorates of Iraq and their tolerance of environmental conditions in the northern, central and southern regions. They are among the most widespread livestock after sheep and provide basic foodstuffs for the population of meat, milk, dairy and products. Others are also raw materials for many ice and chemical industries, and in addition to their exports of live animals, they provide hard currencies from foreign international trade. In conclusion, this book will be a source for geographical, agricultural, veterinary and economic studies because of its importance in studying and including a lot of information explained in the chapters of the book above.
