The College of Education organizes a massive afforestation campaign in implementation of the directives of the Iraqi Prime Minister*

In implementation of the campaign launched by the Iraqi Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, within the afforestation initiative The College of Education at the University of Maysan launches its major afforestation campaign coinciding with the National Afforestation Day on March 12, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, regarding the necessity of involving university and college students in afforestation of university gardens on this day. The scientific departments, with their students and teaching and administrative staff, began field work to plant and grow various trees. Sponsored and supervised by the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Buraq Talib Shalash and Mr. Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Salim Kazim Abbas, and Mrs. Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Professor Dr. Rana Sabeeh Abboud. In the presence of the ministerial delegation charged with following up on the afforestation of the University of Maysan, headed by Professor Dr. Tu’omah Mutair This campaign came about by planting a group of seedlings and flowers to contribute to raising awareness about increasing the university’s green area, as well as developing and encouraging volunteer work among students to plant trees because of its positive effects in providing a healthy atmosphere, improving the university environment, and reducing pollution. The campaign also comes within a series of campaigns carried out periodically by the College of Education to support and increase green spaces, pay attention to the beauty of the college’s gardens and corridors, and maintain their sustainability.
