The College of Education at the University of Maysan holds a training course on “Preparing a Presentation Using LaTeX.”

The course was held by the Department of Mathematics at the College of Education at the University of Maysan, in the presence of the Dean of the College (Assistant Professor.Dr. Buraq Talib Shalash) and the Head of the Mathematics Department, and a group of department professors. The course included two topics The first axis: The theoretical axis This topic touched on ● Definition of the Latex program, which is a system for writing scientific and technical documents, using a special programming language.
●It is explained how to use the beamer package to create professional presentations using Latex software.
●The Bimmer was defined, a historical overview of it, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of the Bimmer. Theoretical axis trainer: Assistant teacher Hadeel Ghazi. The second axis: the applied axis
● What was explained in the theoretical section was applied by preparing a simple presentation using the Beamer then explain how to change the document class from article to beamer to create a presentation.
● Some professional ready-made templates that can be used to create distinctive presentations were displayed.
● It is explained how to use ready-made templates and modify them to create professional presentations that meet the user’s needs.
● Explain how to download the presentation after preparing it in the form of a PDF file. Practical axis trainer: Lecturer Dr. Heba Rabie. The course aims to introduce participants to various LaTeX tools for creating presentations and teach them how to design presentations using LaTeX. Because most scientific journals require mathematical researchers to submit their manuscripts in LaTeX format and not Word, it has become necessary to rely on LaTeX for the purpose of presenting printed research in it.
This is why the lecturers recommended the necessity of mastering printing and presentations using the LaTeX program. This professionalism can be achieved through continuous practice, reading books specific to LaTeX, or joining forums specific to this program. The course concluded with answering and discussing questions posed by the attending professors.
