Complaints and appeals:

All researchers have the right to appeal the decision of the editorial board of Misan Journal for Political and International Studies regarding their violation of scientific conduct and publishing ethics. Any decision taken by the journal may be appealed or complained about by sending an official request via the journal’s email ([email protected])

  • The editor-in-chief will form a small committee to look into the origin of the appeal or complaint, and then the committee will submit its recommendations or report regarding the complaint to the editor-in-chief, and within approximately a week the complainant will be responded to via his official email from which he sent the complaint or any email specified by the complainant in his letter.
  • The journal has an organized schedule and timing to respond to all appeals and complaints submitted to it. These responses will be documented and provided with conclusive evidence, with a statement of the action taken by the journal regarding the type of complaint. Priority will be given to complaints that have a significant impact on the reputation of the journal, the editorial board, the referees, and the reputation of the researchers.
  • Controversy and personal interests must be avoided while dealing with any complaint or appeal, and the answer to the complainant must be official.
  • Referring complaints that have a legal aspect to the competent legal consultant in the Legal Affairs Division at the college or university, and the editorial board does not decide on them except after a comprehensive legal review of them, and notifying the complainant that the subject of his complaint is in the hands of the competent legal authority.
  • Misan Journal of Political and International Studies is keen to move forward in following COPE guidelines and resorts to them in cases that are difficult for the editor-in-chief to solve or find a legal solution for.
  • Requesting the complainant to provide material evidence of the validity of his complaint, attaching this evidence. If there is a complaint regarding scientific theft, the journal shall form a committee of specialized arbitrators to consider the complainant’s claim, after the latter submits evidentiary evidence about that with the complaint or appeal request.
  • Considering complaints about the theft of an entire research file and publishing it under the names of fake researchers. Here, the journal withdraws the published article and deletes it from its official pages, and notifies the researchers that it is not acceptable to publish the research, that they have violated the instructions of publishing ethics, and that the real author did not grant permission to publish the research paper.
  • The identity of the complainant is not revealed to the other party, and matters of correspondence and response remain strictly confidential. This procedure is an integral part of the magazine’s policy. Notifying the person that his identity remains confidential.
  • Do not allow the publication of research papers under pseudonyms by anonymous researchers. Explicitly mentioning the names of the researchers, their places of work, and means of contacting them are necessary to highlight the extent of transparency with which the Misan Journal of Political and International Studies deals.
