Sponsored by the Rector of the University of Maysan, Professor Dr. Adel Man’e Dakhil, and supervised by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Abbas Oda Dawood, the Continuing Education Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with the Civil Engineering Department and the Advisory Office of the Faculty, organized a training course entitled “Technical Skills Testing and Intercomparisons,” which was held at the Construction Laboratory.
The course was attended by faculty members, as well as engineering and technical staff. Among the faculty members were Professor Dr. Saad Fahad Rusen, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Legal Affairs; Assistant Lecturer Dr. Mortaza Abbas Abd Ali, Head of the Civil Engineering Department; and Lecturer Dr. Riyad Tameh Hazem, Director of the Engineering Advisory Office at the Faculty of Engineering.
Spanning three days, the course combined both theoretical and practical aspects, with applications using the latest laboratory equipment. The program focused on developing the technical skills of staff working in engineering laboratories, enhancing their knowledge in the field of technical testing, and improving the methods for conducting cross-comparisons of engineering tests. This, in turn, contributes to improving the accuracy and quality of laboratory work.
This course is part of a series of training programs organized by the Faculty of Engineering, aimed at developing scientific and technical competencies while enhancing the overall quality of education and scientific research at the institution.
