Under the patronage of Professor Adel Man’e Dakhel, President of the University of Maysan, and under the supervision of Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, at the University of Maysan held a ceremony to mark the conclusion of its training programs for students and graduates for the 2024–2025 academic year. These programs were organized by the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the college.
The ceremony featured a comprehensive presentation delivered by Assistant Lecturer Salam Abdel-Zahra Khalifa, Head of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit. In his address, he outlined the most significant achievements and developments realized by the unit throughout the academic year across administrative, technical, and creative domains. He also reviewed the various training activities implemented, highlighting their outcomes and the measurable successes achieved, while presenting the unit’s strategic goals for the upcoming academic year.
A number of distinguished guests attended the event, including a delegation from the Petroleum Training Institute in Maysan, headed by Professor Ahmed Khudair Abbas, and a delegation from the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, led by Chief Engineer Hassanein Abdul-razzaq Abdul-wahab. The ceremony also welcomed faculty members, graduates, and students from the college.
In recognition of their contributions, the college presented the Petroleum Training Institute with the College Shield, honoring their active role in delivering specialized workshops and courses—particularly in the field of occupational safety. The Engineers Syndicate was also honored with the College Shield, in appreciation of its continued support for student and graduate development within Maysan universities.
The ceremony also recognized internal efforts. The Head of the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit was honored for his outstanding dedication to student and graduate rehabilitation and training. Additionally, the Head of the Continuing Education Unit received recognition for his vital contributions to the success of the college’s professional development programs. A group of graduates and student volunteers were also acknowledged for their proactive involvement in supporting the unit’s activities over the academic year.
On the sidelines of the event, an extended meeting was held between the Faculty Deanship and the delegation from the Engineers Syndicate in the office of the Dean. The discussion focused on exploring future avenues of collaboration, with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of practical training programs and strengthening the linkage between academic preparation and labor market needs.
The event concluded with the launch of the sixth Occupational Safety Workshop, held in partnership with the Petroleum Training Institute in Maysan. The workshop, attended by a group of students and graduates, is part of a broader series of training sessions aimed at equipping participants with essential professional and safety competencies in preparation for future employment.
