A master’s thesis at the University of Misan examines the reproductive system inflammations

The student, Khitam Jabr Hassan, in the College of Science / Department of Biology, discussed a master’s thesis titled:

Isolation and identification of yeasts from women infected with inflammations of the reproductive system in Maysan Province. The study aims to isolate and identify of yeasts from women infected with infections or inflammations in their reproductive system. Conducting phenotypic and biochemical examinations of isolated species and their diagnosis by molecular methods. The study confirmed the existence of a relationship between infections of the female reproductive system and the presence of Candida yeast species, which were isolated from different age groups of women, especially 26-35 years old. Females in this old range are more susceptible to vaginal candidiasis, as most of them at this age may be married, pregnant, or use birth control pills that increase the chances of exposure to infection more than other age groups. The study concluded that vaginal candidiasis is prevalent among women with genital infections. The study recommends taking swabs from women who suffer from vaginal infections and then culturing them to determine the type of organism that causes inflammation because the clinical diagnosis may be inaccurate because of the similarity of the clinical symptoms among inflammatory organisms and thus determine the appropriate type of treatment.

The discussion committee consisted of: –
