Today, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering held a memorial ceremony marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (Jerusalem). The event took place in the hall of the late Professor Adel Abdullah Shahib, with the attendance of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, the Dean’s assistants, heads of scientific departments, along with a group of faculty members and staff.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs. Afterwards, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, delivered a speech recalling the heroism of the martyred Sayyed and his courageous resistance against the forces of oppression and tyranny. He praised his historical role in defending the nation’s causes and his honorable stances that stood as a shining example of steadfastness and sacrifice, affirming that his legacy will remain alive in the conscience of future generations.
This was followed by a lecture presented by Professor Ahmed Kazem Al-Sharaa, which shed light on key milestones in the life of the martyred Sayyed, highlighting his leadership, his struggle, and his biography filled with noble positions in defense of the nation’s issues.
The ceremony served as a reminder of the values of loyalty and sacrifice embodied by the martyr and reaffirmed his profound place in the conscience and collective memory of the nation, immortalizing a life rich in dedication and resistance.
