Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan Continues to Strengthen Civil Defense and Occupational Safety Procedures

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide a safe learning environment that meets safety requirements, the faculty of engineering – University of Maysan continues to implement civil defense and occupational safety procedures within its infrastructure and scientific and administrative departments.

These measures include inspecting manual and fixed fire extinguishing systems, updating evacuation plan instructions, ensuring the readiness of exits in emergency situations, and maintaining alarm and fire detection systems.

The Dean of the faculty, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, emphasized that these actions reflect the faculty’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of its members and students, stating:

“Providing a safe environment is an integral part of our educational mission, and we will constantly work to develop protection and safety systems in line with civil defense and occupational safety requirements.”

The Services Division/Occupational Safety Unit and the Follow-up Division at the faculty also affirmed the continued organization of awareness and training programs for their members, aimed at equipping them to respond effectively to emergencies and fostering a culture of prevention and safety across the campus.
