A group of students from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Maysan participated in the “Heritage Knowledge” competition, organized by the Holy Abbasid Threshold at the University of Karbala. The team achieved fourth place among the participating public and private universities.
The Maysan University team consisted of Lecturer Dr. Haider Jabr Flayeh, who also served as the coordinator, and the following students from the Department of Electrical Engineering:
- Student Anwar Shaya Khalid
- Student Ali Jasim Mahibis
- Student Ahmed Ali Aboud
- Student Mustafa Karim Fanous
The competition aimed to revive Arab and Iraqi heritage, while encouraging students to explore their history and deepen their knowledge of literary, poetic, and religious traditions.
In recognition of their success, the students were honored by the Rector of the University of Maysan, Professor Dr. Adel Man’e. He praised their outstanding achievement in raising the university’s profile in national forums, particularly those supported by sacred thresholds.
The involvement of the Faculty of Engineering students in such cultural and heritage events underscores the Faculty’s commitment to fostering both academic and cultural development. This participation contributes to shaping well-rounded individuals who are equipped to represent the University with distinction.
