The Faculty of Engineering Holds the Eighth Occupational Safety Workshop

Under the patronage of the President of Maysan University, Professor Adel Manea Dakhil, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, the Qualification, Employment and Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Engineering, in cooperation with the Petroleum Training Institute / Maysan, organized a specialized training workshop in the field of occupational safety targeting fourth-year students in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, as part of a series of scientific activities aimed at developing students’ practical competencies.

The workshop was held in the presence of Assistant Professor Jabbar Rahim Rashid, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, along with a number of faculty members and students from the department.

The workshop was delivered by Engineer Najm Abdel Rady and Engineer Safaa Abdel Ali Mahdi, and addressed a range of essential topics in occupational health and safety (HSE). These included identifying risks in oil field work environments, methods of prevention and risk mitigation, as well as the standards and procedures required to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the culture of occupational safety among Petroleum Engineering students and enhance their ability to effectively handle real-world field challenges, thereby improving their readiness for professional engagement in the labor market.
