The College of Engineering at the University of Misan was established in 2012 in the city of Misan. The college comprises four departments: Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The college plays a significant role through the expertise of its academic staff in training and developing personnel working in various sectors of state institutions, offering engineering consultancy, and providing its graduates as a source of skilled engineering professionals to state departments and companies operating in Iraq. These professionals are equipped to adapt to advancements in engineering and technology.

The College of Engineering has strategic plans to develop its diverse programs in alignment with the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and global standards. These plans focus on enhancing the college’s academic staff, curricula, and scientific laboratories with advanced laboratory equipment and engineering software applications. The college is also committed to initiating postgraduate studies, establishing research and administrative units, strengthening the academic and research roles of its faculty, elevating the intellectual and scientific levels of its students, discovering their talents, and developing mechanisms for collaboration with state departments, institutions, and civil society organizations. The aim is to provide integrative services to society and bolster the University of Misan’s position in global university rankings.
