The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Maysan University, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, participated in the meeting of the Committee of Deans of Engineering Faculties in Iraqi Universities, which was hosted by the Iraqi University, with the attendance of an elite group of deans representing engineering faculties from various Iraqi universities.
The meeting included the presentation and discussion of several key issues related to the development of engineering education, most notably the modernization of academic curricula to keep pace with rapid scientific and technological advancements, as well as expanding frameworks for academic and research collaboration among engineering colleges in a manner that promotes knowledge exchange and institutional integration.
Discussions also focused on mechanisms for improving the quality of engineering education and strengthening academic accreditation requirements in accordance with approved standards. In addition, participants addressed the most prominent challenges facing engineering education institutions and explored practical solutions aimed at enhancing educational outcomes in alignment with labor market demands.
This meeting comes within the framework of ongoing national efforts to advance the engineering education system in Iraq and elevate the performance of Iraqi universities, thereby reinforcing their academic and research presence at both regional and international levels.
