Under the patronage of Professor Adel Manea Dakhil, President of Maysan University, and under the supervision of Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Electrical Engineering, organized an in-person scientific course entitled: “Mechanism for Writing Graduation Projects.”
The course was presented by Professor Ahmed Risan Hussein, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the College of Engineering – University of Maysan.
This course aimed to direct graduating students toward the correct academic and scientific methods for preparing and writing their graduation projects. It focused on training students to design the general structure of the project in accordance with academic standards adopted in engineering colleges, and to understand the importance of clarity, coherence, and scientific documentation in presenting research work.
The lecturer explained the steps of writing scientific reports, including how to prepare the abstract, introduction, and literature review, as well as the proper ways to cite and document sources using recognized scientific methods. He also clarified techniques for analysis, discussion, and systematic interpretation of results to strengthen the scientific and practical value of the project.
The course further emphasized the importance of presentation skills and the preparation of the final project presentation before the discussion committees, as these represent an essential stage in evaluating the student’s academic and professional maturity.
At the conclusion of the course, the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering expressed its gratitude to the lecturer for his valuable efforts and to the students for their active participation and interaction. The Dean stressed the importance of continuing to organize such scientific courses that contribute to enhancing students’ research abilities and preparing them to meet academic and professional challenges with competence and confidence.
