The Student Activities Unit of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Maysan, in collaboration with the University’s Student Activities Department, recently organized a voluntary afforestation campaign in coordination with the Faculty’s Afforestation Unit. The event, which aimed to increase green spaces on campus, was attended by Dr. Saad Fahad Russen, Associate Dean for Administrative and Legal Affairs, and Associate Professor Dr. Jabar Raheem Rashid, Head of the Oil Engineering Department, along with faculty members and students.

Held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., the campaign took place in the Petroleum Engineering Department Park. The initiative was designed to contribute to the improvement of the university’s environment by expanding green areas and parks across the campus. This effort underscores the Faculty of Engineering’s commitment to creating a sustainable and welcoming environment for both students and faculty.

Through such initiatives, the Faculty of Engineering continues to promote environmental awareness and the importance of green spaces, which are vital for improving both the aesthetic and ecological quality of the university. The campaign also serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility in fostering a healthier and more sustainable campus environment.
