The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, participated in the first in-person meeting of the Committee of Deans of Engineering Colleges at Iraqi universities for the 2026–2027 academic year. The meeting was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Anbar on Thursday, October 8, 2026, with the participation of several deans of engineering colleges from Iraqi universities.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Malik Abdul Razzaq, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Iraqi University. Discussions covered several issues on the agenda concerning the development of engineering education at Iraqi universities, strengthening cooperation and coordination among engineering colleges, and exchanging perspectives and proposals to improve academic and scientific standards and advance study programs.
The meeting was attended by Professor Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, President of the University of Anbar, who welcomed the participating deans and highlighted the importance of such gatherings in promoting academic integration and exchanging expertise among Iraqi universities. Amir Abdul Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Anbar, also welcomed the guests and expressed his pride in hosting this academic gathering.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood was presented with a letter of appreciation in recognition of his efforts and contributions to the advancement of academic and educational work, as part of the ceremony honoring the deans who participated in the meeting.
The Dean’s participation reflects the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan’s commitment to strengthening its presence at academic and scientific events and fostering cooperative relations with counterpart institutions at Iraqi universities. These efforts open broader opportunities for exchanging expertise and successful experiences, while contributing to institutional development and improving the quality of engineering education and scientific research.
