The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of the Central Admissions Guide in Iraqi universities for the academic year 2025/2026.

In his speech at the conference dedicated to launching the guide for the central admission system, he emphasized the importance of this file to the Ministry, as it reflects the responsibility of managing and organizing the aspirations of new students preparing to enter the university environment and select specializations that align with their academic interests and competitive averages.

He explained that this year witnessed the highest percentage of university innovations in the history of higher education and scientific research institutions in Iraq, with a total of thirty-two colleges, one hundred and fifty-one scientific departments, and thirty-nine branches approved for the academic year 2025/2026.

He added that these developments stemmed from a strategic scientific vision that introduced colleges of excellence, artificial intelligence, nursing, and programs in the digital economy, engineering, energy, and automated manufacturing. Additionally, technical institutes within technical universities were transformed into polytechnic colleges, contributing to strengthening the knowledge economy, developing skills, and promoting innovation.

The conference activities also included presentations by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Haider Abdel Dahd, and the Director General of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up, Hazem Abdel Razzaq, which addressed the transformations in university education, the (Qadam) digital platform, and the mechanisms for applying for central admission.
