The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na’eem Al-Aboudi, announced the launch of a comprehensive electronic transformation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, beginning with the 2024/2025 academic year.

This announcement was made during a joint meeting with the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, chaired by Dr. Muzahim Al Khayat. During the meeting, the Minister explained that the new electronic transformation initiative would encompass 50 systems designed to digitize the operations of the Ministry, in addition to establishing digital data center built in accordance with international standards.

Furthermore, he emphasized that this integrated digital transformation, along with the adoption of specialized electronic systems for administrative and academic functions, aims to improve efficiency, streamline procedures, finalize digital documentation, eliminate paper-based processes, and deliver services through smart applications. The transformation will connect departments, universities, faculties, and institutes across all governorates to the Ministry’s central system via an information network, enabling the management and evaluation of educational, scientific, and developmental activities. This effort is meant to meet the evolving needs of learning, education, scientific research, and community service.

The Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, in turn, praised the Ministry’s decision to implement a comprehensive digital transformation. The Committee described the project as a success story, embodied in integrated electronic systems and applications responsible for university admissions (both public and private), student registration, information management, digital education, automation of departmental work, research centers, testing, and document issuance.
