A lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering at Maysan University ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to Stanford University

Dr. Qudama Muhammed Kassim Al Yasri, a professor in the Department of Oil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Maysan, has been recognized in Stanford University’s 2024 list of the top 2% of the most cited scientists globally. This list includes 160,000 scientists from 149 countries, including Iraq. The selection is based on data from the Scopus database, covering 22 scientific disciplines and 174 sub-disciplines, and is ranked using the Science-Metrix classification standard. Various indicators were considered, such as the volume of high-quality scientific publications, the number of unique research papers, citations, H-index, co-authorship, composite citation index, and self-citation ratio.
