On Saturday, December 21, 2024, the Department of Chemical Engineering building at the Faculty of Engineering was inaugurated by the Governor of Maysan, Dr. Habeeb Zaheer Al-Fertousi. The event was attended by the Head of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Abbas Oda Dawood, and the Assistant Governor for Technical Affairs.
During his address, the Governor of Maysan emphasized that the project’s purpose is to strengthen the higher education sector and enhance the academic environment in the governorate. He stated that the initiative reflects the local government’s commitment to supporting Maysan University by providing an educational environment that meets the standards of academic excellence.
This project is one of several initiatives funded by Maysan Governorate. It covers a total area of 2,300 square meters, with a construction area of 2,200 square meters per floor.
The Head of the Faculty of Engineering also delivered a speech, expressing his gratitude for the support provided by Maysan Governorate to the Faculty. He emphasized the importance of improving both the physical infrastructure and scientific resources of the Faculty. In conclusion, he thanked the Governor of Maysan for his continued support of the Faculty of Engineering.
