Iraqi Accreditation Authority Team Completes Evaluation of Construction Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering at Maysan University recently welcomed the assessment team commissioned by the Iraqi Accreditation Authority, which completed its evaluation during the current week, as outlined in the Authority’s letter numbered 326, dated 24/2/2025.

The purpose of the visit was to assess both the technical and administrative aspects of the Construction Laboratory and to review the tests it conducts, as the laboratory plays a crucial role in the scientific and research structure of the College. This visit is also part of the College’s ongoing efforts to obtain laboratory accreditation from the Iraqi Accreditation Authority by meeting the requirements of the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

The visiting team was led by Sarab Ibrahim Khalil from the Iraqi Accreditation Authority. They were welcomed by Dr. Saad Fahad Russen, Associate Dean for Administrative and Legal Affairs; Dr. Riyad Taimah Hazem, Director of the Advisory Office; and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Hatif Obaid, Rapporteur for the Civil Engineering Department.

This visit underscores the College’s commitment to enhancing the quality of laboratory work in alignment with international standards, contributing to the development of scientific research, and supporting the academic accreditation of engineering laboratories.
