Sponsored by the President of the University of Maysan, Professor Adel Man’e Dakhil, and supervised by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Abbas Oda Dawood, the Continuing Education Unit of the Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, organized a workshop titled “Dams – Overview and Determinants” on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Rehab.
Present at the workshop were:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Muammar Hazem Ali, a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department.
- Assistant Lecturer Duha Kareem Hassan, a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering.
The workshop discussed three main themes: an introduction to dams, types of dams, and criteria for selecting their locations. Emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to engineering and environmental standards to ensure the successful achievement of the objectives behind the establishment of dams.
