As part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the role of academics in union work and reinforce the principle of active representation within educational institutions, faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Maysan participated in the election of a representative for the Academic Union of the Scientific Colleges Complex. The election took place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Medical Faculty in the University of Maysan.
The electoral process was attended by Captain of Academics of Maysan Branch, Professor Dr. Mohammed Jabbar Tuwayeh, alongside the active participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Abbas Oda Dawood, the Dean’s Associates, heads of scientific departments, and faculty members. The election was conducted with full transparency and professional responsibility, and the results led to the selection of Dr. Ali Abdul Zahra Ali as the new representative for academics in the Faculty of Engineering.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty, on behalf of himself and all the members of the Faculty, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ali Abdul Zahra Ali. He wished him success in fulfilling his duties, with the aim of advancing the interests of academics and enhancing their role in the continued improvement of educational and professional development.
