Under the auspices of the Rector of the University of Maysan, Professor Adel Man’e Dakhil, and the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, the Faculty of Engineering organized an awareness workshop on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The workshop, titled “Together for a Society Without Hatred: Promoting the Values of Tolerance and Mutual Respect”, aimed to foster a culture of tolerance and mutual respect within the university community.
The event sought to create an educational environment that promotes peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among students and faculty. The workshop was led by Assistant Lecturer Mu’ayed Kareem Hassan and was part of the ongoing activities of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering.
During the workshop, students actively participated in discussions about the importance of tolerance and its role in building a more harmonious and respectful university environment. The workshop concluded with several key recommendations:
- Launch awareness programs that promote a culture of tolerance on campus.
- Foster constructive dialogue between students and faculty to encourage an environment of mutual respect.
- Integrate principles of peaceful coexistence into student activities and academic curricula.
- Strengthen the role of psychological counseling and educational guidance in addressing student behavior and promoting positive values.
- Organize more workshops and seminars aimed at raising awareness about community peace and rejecting violence and hatred.
The Faculty of Engineering remains committed to organizing such initiatives that support the cultivation of positive values among students, helping to build a university environment rooted in respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
