As part of the College of Engineering at the University of Maysan’s efforts to achieve the highest standards of quality and academic accreditation, Professor Abbas Oda, Dean of the College, welcomed the Program Accreditation Follow-up Committee during their visit to the college on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the readiness of the college’s scientific departments to implement the requirements of program accreditation.
The committee was accompanied on their tour by Assistant Lecturer Mushtaq Abbas Oraibi, the Academic Accreditation Officer at the College of Engineering. During the visit, the committee reviewed the preparations made to meet the accreditation requirements in accordance with approved standards.
The field tour included several scientific departments, where the committee met with:
- Assistant Lecturer Professor Jabbar Rahim Rashid, Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department
- Assistant Lecturer Professor Muhammad Khalaf Jumaa, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department
- Assistant Lecturer Professor Murtada Abbas Ali, Head of the Civil Engineering Department
- Professor Mahmoud Shaker Mahmoud, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department
The committee was briefed on the organizational and administrative efforts undertaken by the departments and provided a set of observations aimed at enhancing institutional readiness and developing the self-evaluation report—an essential step toward achieving program accreditation.
