Maysan Oil Company is following up in the field on a project to construct a building for the Civil Engineering Department at Engineering Faculty – University of Maysan

As part of the ongoing cooperation between the University of Maysan and the Maysan Oil Company, a delegation from the company visited the construction site of the new Civil Engineering Department building at the College of Engineering. This project is being implemented under the social benefits initiatives supported by oil companies to enhance local infrastructure and educational facilities.

The delegation was led by Engineer Fadel Hani Ali, Head of the Social Benefits Division. Accompanying him was a media team consisting of Haider Halil Abdel Hassan, Muhammad Saleh Musa, Nawar Shehab Ahmed, and Dhafer Muhammad Mohsen.

During the visit, the delegation was welcomed by Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, Dean of the College of Engineering, at the project site. The visiting team expressed their appreciation for the exceptional cooperation extended by the college administration and the university leadership, noting their commitment to ensuring that the construction progresses according to approved engineering standards.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Maysan Oil Company’s media team conducted a field interview with the Dean. In his remarks, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood highlighted the importance of the project in strengthening the department’s infrastructure. He explained that the new building would feature modern classrooms, well-equipped scientific laboratories, and administrative offices, all of which would contribute significantly to improving the academic environment. He also emphasized that the enhanced infrastructure would increase the department’s capacity, enabling it to accommodate more students, including transfers from other Iraqi universities—thereby easing the financial and logistical burden on their families.

Concluding the visit, and on behalf of the University President, Professor Adel Man’e Dakhel, the Dean expressed his sincere gratitude to the Governor of Maysan, Professor Habib Zahir Al-Fartusi, and the General Manager of the Maysan Oil Company, Engineer Hussein Kazem Laibi Al-Bahadli, for their continued support. He also thanked Engineer Fadel Hani Ali for his leadership in the Social Benefits Division, and commended the Supervisory Committee for its dedication to maintaining the highest technical and engineering standards throughout the project.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to educational development and community advancement in the Maysan region.
