Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Maysan, received a delegation from the Engineers Syndicate – Maysan Branch, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and professional bodies in support of scientific and professional advancement.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for meaningful cooperation between the college and the syndicate. A key outcome was the agreement for the Engineers Syndicate to participate in the industrial advisory committees of the college’s academic departments. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of educational outcomes and align academic programs more closely with the evolving needs of the labor market.
The delegation also expressed a strong interest in actively participating in all scientific and academic events organized by the College of Engineering. Their engagement is intended to foster continuous dialogue and collaboration, ensuring a seamless integration of academic knowledge with professional practice.
Professor Abbas Oda Dawood emphasized the significance of supporting the initiatives and programs of the Engineers Syndicate – Maysan Branch. He affirmed that such collaboration plays a pivotal role in empowering engineers in Maysan Governorate, enabling them to effectively contribute to the region’s development and reconstruction efforts. This cooperation, he noted, will be pursued in coordination with the local government to ensure it delivers tangible benefits to the engineering community and the broader society.
