Under the patronage of the President of the University of Maysan, Professor Adel Man’e Dakhel, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, the College of Engineering –, represented by the Continuing Education Unit and the Legal Division –, organized an in-person course entitled: “Financial and administrative corruption and the role of the Integrity Commission in combating it”.
This is in cooperation with the Federal Integrity Commission/Maysan Investigation Bureau, in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on enhancing awareness of financial and administrative corruption issues in all their forms.
The course was held over two days, on Wednesday, 04/30/2025, and on Sunday, 05/04/2025, in the hall of the late Professor Adel Abdullah Shehayeb in the building of the Deanship of the College of Engineering, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, and the assistants, heads of departments’ Scientific studies, and a number of college employees and lecturers.
The course was presented by Investigator Hassan Saleh Mahdi from Maysan Investigations Office, in which he discussed the most prominent forms of financial and administrative corruption, mechanisms for combating it, and the supervisory role played by the Integrity Commission in this field.
This course comes within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering’s keenness to raise the level of legal awareness and enhance the culture of integrity among its members, in support of the state’s efforts to combat corruption and achieve a fair and transparent university environment.
At the conclusion of the course, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, extended his thanks and appreciation to Investigator Hassan Saleh Mahdi for his valuable efforts in making this course a success, and presented him with the College of Engineering shield in appreciation of his efforts in this course. He also appreciated the efforts of a number of distinguished college employees who contributed effectively to Organizing this awareness activity, stressing the importance of concerted efforts to improve institutional work and consolidate the principles of transparency and integrity.
