The Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan received a high-level delegation from Azad University in the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by Professor Mustafa Sakhrawi, in the presence of Professor Adel Manea Dakhil, President of the University of Maysan, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, along with the Dean’s assistants, heads of scientific departments, and a group of faculty members.
This visit came within the framework of strengthening the bonds of scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi and Iranian universities, and in support of efforts to enhance opportunities for exchanging expertise in the fields of research and education.
During the meeting, both sides discussed mechanisms for developing joint scientific cooperation between the two universities through future memorandums of understanding that would include academic exchange programs, joint supervision of scientific research, and the organization of shared seminars and conferences. These initiatives aim to elevate the academic and research levels in both institutions and build sustainable partnerships in the fields of science and technology.
Following the discussions, the visiting delegation toured the facilities of the College of Engineering, including a number of specialized laboratories and academic departments, where they were briefed on the available infrastructure, laboratory capabilities, and modern educational resources that support the faculty’s teaching and research activities.
At the conclusion of the visit, it was agreed to organize a reciprocal visit by a delegation from the College of Engineering to Azad University to explore its laboratories, advanced equipment, and research centers, and to further discuss prospects for future cooperation and mutual experience exchange between the two sides.
