The Ministerial Committee for Evaluating Academic and Scientific Performance Visits the Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan

The Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan received a delegation from the ministerial committee assigned to evaluate the academic performance of engineering faculties within the Third Geographical Region. The delegation was received by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, along with the Dean’s Assistants, Heads of Scientific Departments, and the Chair and members of the Faculty’s Academic Performance Evaluation Committee.

The Ministerial Committee delegation included:

  • Professor Haider Orabi Ibrahim – College of Engineering, Al-Muthanna University, Chairman of the Committee.
  • Assistant Professor Ammar Jassim Dakhil – College of Engineering, University of Basra, Committee Member.
  • Assistant Professor Muhammad Abdul Amir Abdul Nabi – College of Engineering, University of Maysan, Committee Member.

The visit included a field tour of several Faculty facilities, including classrooms, engineering laboratories, educational infrastructure, and administrative services provided to students. The purpose of the visit was to assess the academic environment and evaluate institutional performance according to approved assessment criteria, quality standards, and academic accreditation requirements.

The committee also held a meeting with the Faculty’s Academic Performance Evaluation Committee, during which the requirements of the evaluation form for the 2025–2026 academic year were reviewed. Discussions focused on indicators related to the academic, educational, and administrative aspects, in addition to the procedures implemented by the Faculty to enhance its educational environment and improve the quality of its academic outcomes.

The Ministerial Committee expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by the Faculty of Engineering – University of Maysan, commending the high level of organization, preparation, and documentation, as well as the academic and laboratory capabilities that effectively support the educational process and contribute to the continuous development of engineering education.

This visit comes within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to monitor the academic performance of engineering colleges and strengthen quality assurance and academic accreditation requirements in line with the objectives of advancing higher education in Iraq.
