Under the auspices of Professor Adel Man’e Dakhil, President of the University of Mayssan, and the supervision of Professor Abbas Oda Dawood, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Qualification, Employment, and Follow-up Unit of the Faculty of Engineering organized a specialized course on “Types of Electrical Plants and Components.” The course was designed to assist graduates seeking employment in electrical engineering.
The session, which took place on Monday, 27th January 2024, spanned two days and was attended by Eng. Abdelaziz Ghalib Thajil, an expert in electrical power. The course covered a variety of themes, focusing primarily on the components of secondary electrical stations. These included:
- The switchgear
- The switch yard
- Cycle breakers and protection relays
- Busbars and transformers
Each of these components was explained in detail, offering participants a simplified and practical understanding of their roles in electrical plants.
Furthermore, the course emphasized the importance of continuous self-learning, providing insights into how graduates can develop their specialization and improve their English language skills. The use of educational sites and applications for ongoing professional development was also highlighted.
The course was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Scientific Associate, the President of the Department of Oil Engineering, and several distinguished professors from the Faculty. At the end of the session, Eng. Abdelaziz Ghalib Thajil was honored with the Faculty’s shield and a book of thanks and appreciation for his exceptional efforts in delivering the course.
Mr. Dawood, the Dean, expressed his appreciation for the course’s importance, emphasizing its role in qualifying graduates and opening up new job opportunities, ultimately contributing to their career advancement.
