Professor Dr. Ahmed Kadhim al-Shar’e from the Faculty of Engineering at Maysan University in collaboration with Dr. Falah Asee Aboud and Engineer Husam Hakim from the Faculty of Engineering at Basra University published a scientific research in the International Journal of Thermal Fluids Q1.
The research included studying the impact of the solar chimney on the room in the presence and absence of phase change material in Basra, Iraq, theoretically and experimentally, and for numerical and theoretical analysis simulated using ANSYS-Fluent 2021/R2 software, and experimentally the best results obtained from numerical simulations were used in the design to build the device and record data.
The effect of many factors and variables, such as the angles of the solar chimney mile, the air gap, the addition of the PCM basin to the solar chimney of different thickness, the temperature of the heat-absorbing panel, the rate of air change per hour (ACH) in the presence and absence of PCM, and the effect of liquid melting were studied.
