Fourth-Grade Project Students Conduct Field Visit to Bridge Site in Maysan Governorate

Following directives from the Engineering Department’s leadership to enhance the quality of graduation research for final-year students, a group of fourth-grade students from the Civil Engineering Department conducted a field visit to a bridge site in the city of Amara, Maysan Governorate. This initiative aims to support applied projects and foster constructive communication with the labor market.

The visit was attended by Assistant Lecturer Wameedh Issa Bredee, the supervisor for their graduation project, and Mr. Akram Jum’a, the site manager. The students’ graduation project focuses on structural analysis using the SAP2000 software to evaluate the box girder section that is being cast on-site.

This hands-on experience is designed to increase students’ awareness of real-world situations and on-site challenges, providing them with the opportunity to achieve a virtual representation that accurately reflects the realities of their project. By engaging with actual construction practices, the students can better understand the complexities involved in civil engineering and enhance their educational experience.
